So now that I’ve been posting for about two months, I’d like to thank everyone who’s visited this site so far. I’m pretty surprised with the numbers, and I’m working hard to write better articles and review some interesting music.
This month I have tons of albums to review including: The Decemberists, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Chris Cornell, Bon Iver, and lots more. If you’re interested in any of those bands, be sure to check back periodically.
I’ll also be posting a lot more videos that I find interesting or inspiring. They’ll mostly be live performances (i.e. Bon Iver on Letterman).
If you have an album you’d like me to talk about, drop a comment and I’ll see what I can do.
Thanks for reading.

Instead of reviewing or talking about new music, today I want to take a step back in time and talk about one of my favorite bands: Fugazi.
Founded in 1987, the band quickly became known for the DIY attitude. They fought to maintain low ticket prices to their shows and low prices for their albums. Unfortunately, they’ve been on hiatus since 2002.
Hailing from Washington D.C, the band plays punk music that is full of energy and passion. Over their 15 year career the band released seven albums - most notably: Repeater, 13 songs, and The Argument.
There’s not too much that I can say about these guys except that they were an incredible band. Hopefully they will be back one day soon. The following video is one of the best things I’ve ever seen on youtube and I strongly recommend that everyone watches it.

According to Rancid’s official website (rancidrancid.com ) their new album is completed and slated for release in the spring of this year. The album is currently untitled.
The album was mixed by long-time Rancid producer, Brett Gurewitz. Brett is most well known as the founding member of Bad Religion and the owner of Epitaph Records.
The album will be released in time for Rancid’s upcoming North American tour with Rise Against. It will also mark the first appearance (in studio) of new drummer Branden Steineckert (formerly of The Used).
The band states on their website: “We’re putting together some exciting stuff with this record that we can’t wait to share with you all.”

Sincerely,
BW.

After hearing a few songs off of Death Cab for Cutie’s latest album - Narrow Stairs - I’m quite anxious to hear the rest of the album.
The first single, I Will Possess Your Heart, is a great song that builds up painfully slowly until it blossoms. The instrumentation is simply wonderful and inspiring.
The vocal melody is what makes the song special. It really stands out from the steady jam of the band. This song is the epiphany of Death Cab’s “spacey” vibe.
The second single, Cath, is even more memorable than the first. The guitar playing is extremely tasteful in this song - it’s driving, yet relaxing; subtle, yet exciting.
This song is capable of making you feel emotional, which is not surprising coming from a band that is often labeled as “emo”.
I really can’t wait to hear more from this album and this band. I was never really a fan in the past, but this new music might be able to convince me to take another listen.
Well done Death Cab, well done.
Sincerely,
BW.
