Viva la Vida (or Death and All His Friends)
In June of 2008, Coldplay released their fouth studio album: Viva la Vida (or Death and All His Friends).
The album starts off with quite a bang. The into song, Life in Technicolor is an amazing example of how refreshing Coldplay can be.
The song is lively, emotional, and quite fun to listen to. You’ll enjoy this song.
The first single, Violet Hill, isn’t quite up to par. Sure, the falsetto choruses are nice, but the rest of the song seems a bit awkward. It boggles my mind that they chose this to debut the album!
The title track is worth listening to. Although, after the intense amount of radio play it received, I’m sure you’ve heard enough already. Moving on…
The last two songs on the album are my favorites. Strawberry Swing and Death and All His Friends complement each other wonderfully. Strawberry Swing is a very soft track that is sure to relax you. While Death and All His Friends starts off softly, it ramps up halfway through and comes to an epic close.
If you haven’t heard the entire album, I suggest you do so. This album is much more than you can find on Violet Hill.
